Who we are

This website is operated by JC Mitchell (“I”, “me”). I am the data controller responsible for any personal data you submit through this site.

What I collect

When you sign up for the newsletter, I collect:

• Your name (optional, but it helps me address you)
• Your email address (required)
• Which world you’re interested in — adult fiction, children’s stories, or both
• Any optional message you choose to send me

Why I use it

I use your details to send you the monthly dispatch — news on new releases, readings, and occasional writing. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the opt-in box on the signup form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me.

Where it is stored

Your details are stored securely in this site’s database, and may also be copied to a spreadsheet I use to manage the mailing list. I do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

How long I keep it

I keep your details for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, I will delete or suppress your record within a reasonable period.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data I hold about you
• Ask me to correct it
• Ask me to delete it
• Withdraw your consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
